Even in its standard configuration, the Raven AC New features TW Acustic’s proven three-motor drive system. The newly developed motor unit integrates the entire power supply directly into the motor housing, resulting in an exceptionally elegant and uncluttered design. At the same time, the system is already prepared for an optional battery-powered supply, allowing the turntable’s sonic performance to be elevated even further.
Like every model in the Raven series, the AC New follows TW Acustic’s philosophy of sustainable evolution. A wide range of upgrade options enables owners to tailor the turntable to their personal requirements for many years to come. For example, the sophisticated platter from the flagship Raven Black Night can be fitted to further enhance performance.
Particular attention was also paid to everyday usability. Despite its remarkable performance capabilities, the Raven AC New remains surprisingly compact, allowing it to integrate effortlessly into virtually any high-end hi-fi rack. At the same time, its modular construction offers outstanding flexibility: the turntable can accommodate up to four tonearms, ensuring it grows alongside the ambitions of even the most demanding analog enthusiast.

In short: this is it. I don’t believe there is anything more a turntable can extract from a record groove that would remain hidden from the Raven New AC and Raven 12.9 – or that this combination could not transform into a wonderfully effortless and joyful listening experience.

And then came the moment described at the beginning – the moment that made it clear to us within seconds just what kind of analogue heavyweight we were dealing with. Given the tremendous effort that has gone into the Raven AC New, and the price that inevitably follows from it, this certainly did not come as a surprise. Even so, we were hardly prepared for the way this presentation seemed to emerge out of nowhere: superbly organised down to the finest detail, expansive in scale and imbued with a completely natural sense of breath and space.
The delicately accentuated choir in the enchanting “Il Est Né Le Divin Enfant”, from AudioNautes’ 45 rpm anniversary box celebrating the 50th anniversary of the audiophile classic Cantate Domino, possessed an almost captivating elegance and grace. The voices, rhythmically emphasising every syllable, detached themselves completely from the loudspeakers. They could be heard at varying distances within the nave of the church where the recording was made, surrounded by an almost soulful aura.
